Minha surdez só foi descoberta aos 22 meses. Meus pais me levaram para São 
Paulo, onde tive as melhores orientações e tratamentos para o desenvilvimento da minha fala. Lembro-me, perfeitamente, que colocaram-me sozinho, dentro de uma cabine. Onde só via vários furos nas paredes da cabine (caracterizada pelas bolinhas coloridas da obra). Através desse exame de audiometria, fui diagnosticado como portador neurossensorial bilateral. Ao ficar sozinho por um tempo, dentro da cabine, resolvi dar uma espiada na pequena janela de vidro que ficava na porta da cabine, subi o apoio dos pés da banqueta e coloquei as mãos na porta, deparei com os meus pais em lágrimas por ter confirmado pelo exame que eu sou surdo. Papai e mamãe me viram e enxugaram as lágrimas imediatamente. Fiquei pensando "porque os meus pais estavam chorando, que eu iria muito mais longe, apesar da minha surdez!"
Tenho lembranças dos meus melhores presentes que eu ganhei, durante as idas à São Paulo, entre eles, o quais que mais me marcou, foi uma marionete (nomeado de Alerquim), que a mamãe comprou pra mim.
Quando voltei de São Paulo para Timóteo, minha terra natal, pela primeira vez, mamãe fez uma grande festa comemorando os meus dois anos de vida e minha nova fase com os meus primeiros aparelhos auditivos. O tema da festa, por ser junho, foi "Festa Junina". A minha roupa que eu usei no meu aniversário é a mesma da obra.
 
My deafness was only discovered at 22 months. My parents took me to São Paulo, where I received the best guidance and treatments for the development of my speech. I remember clearly that they put me alone, inside a cabin. Where I only saw several holes in the walls of the cabin (characterized by the colorful dots in the work). Through this audiometry test, I was diagnosed as bilateral sensorineural carrier. When I was alone for a while, inside the cabin, I decided to take a look at the small glass window on the cabin door, I climbed the footrest of the stool and placed my hands on the door, I found my parents in tears for having confirmed by the exam that I am deaf. Dad and Mom saw me and wiped their tears immediately. I kept thinking "because my parents were crying, that I would go much further, despite my deafness!" I have memories of my best gifts that I received, during my trips to São Paulo, among them, the one that marked me the most, was a puppet (named Alerquim), that my mother bought for me. When I returned from São Paulo to Timóteo, my hometown, for the first time, mom threw a big party celebrating my two years of life and my new phase with my first hearing aids. The theme of the party, being June, was "Festa Junina". My outfit that I wore on my birthday is the same as the one in the work of art.
